In order to qualify for Social Security disability benefits, you must have a qualifying medical condition that meets the SSA’s definition of a disability. In addition, you must have worked long enough (typically ten years) to be covered by Social Security. The disability usually has to be serious enough that you can no longer work, with things like experience and age taken into account. If you qualify, you may be eligible to collect benefits on a monthly basis if you are unable to work for a year or longer or if your condition will not end until death. Call our office today and John W. Craynock can assist you further.
